Use of Illumina’s massively parallel SBS^TM Next Generation targeted sequencing strategy, based on clonal cluster generation (illustrated below), in which fragments are isothermally amplified through a bridge amplification process results in high scale rapid sequencing of forensically relevant polymorphic regions on the chromosome – anticipated to  allow for the simultaneous genotyping and analysis of autosomal STRs, Y-STRs, X-STRs as well as informative identity SNPs (iiSNPs), phenotypic informative SNPs (piSNPs), and ancestry informative SNPs (aiSNPs) in a single platform.
